I only have experience with local dealers, though, so YMMV. This kit enables you to remove the AIS system completely, including the valve, the AIS covers and the associated tubing. I know that on Japanese bikes, if you have the full race system installed, they DO give you some money for that, but not for slip-ons. Can improve throttle response when used with full aftermarket exhaust systems. However, when I looked up the trade-in value of my Hyper, it gave no option for a slip-on exhaust as an adder.
Ducati branded slip-ons may be different, but I don't know for sure. Its a complete waste of money other than for your own personal benefit.no resale value whatsoever. There is nothing in my head that can justify $1,300!! Frankly, I'm outraged by that price and feel like its blatant price gouging! I mean, how can they (Akra/Ducati) justify that price when, for instance, the Hyper version from Akra is less than half? What makes the SS so much better as to cost more than double?! Not to mention that around here, when going in for a trade, the dealers don't even recognize slip-ons as a value added item, therefore, you get no money for them down the road in resale. I would LOVE to have the Akra slip-on and would gladly pay ~$600 for it.
